Troops Liberate Murasumoddai; more escape routes opened for civilians under terror clutches
Posted by Dev at 9:16 AMSoldiers of Sri Lanka Army 58 Division have liberated Murasumoddai, a key township located on the A-36 road (Paranthan- Mullaittivu), this afternoon (Jan 8). According to the military sources, the soldiers have inflicted heavy damages to the LTTE terrorists during the offensive lunched to liberate the area.Murasumoddai, situated 5.5 Km East of Paranthan is considered to be a town that opens up number of access roads to key LTTE hiding areas in Wanni where thousands of civilians held hostage by the terrorists. Defence observers are in the view that liberation of this town would help the civilians fleeing from LTTE clutches to seek refuge with the soldiers.
