Troops of 55 and 58 Divisions have successfully averted LTTE infiltration attempt causing heavy loses for the LTTE terrorists in early hours this morning, 5 March.According to the available information terrorists have attempted to break the forward defence line linking 55 and 58 Divisions south of Chalai around 4.00 AM. LTTE terrorists have heavy loses due to retaliation launched by the troops, defence sources said.In a subsequent search operation conducted troops have found 33 bodies of LTTE terrorists killed during the hours long gun battle. 33 x T-56 weapons and many other warlike items were also among the recoveries.The recovered items are as follows.
